Final Track Description
This track was inspired by attending Full Sail University's Music and production course in the Project and Portfolio 1 class. This track is something I am quite proud of although I had guidelines to follow and was confined to specific instruments, synths, sounds, and apple loops. Being new to the creative process on logic and music theory, has made this a real challenge for me, however my progress is undeniable.
I used Motif meter in this track. It is very noticeable when you start to hear the Original Synth 2. The Rhythm and Bass go well together in all parts of the composition as well as the Harmony and the Melody. The Tempo i chose to use for this piece is 70 BPM.
In the composition the key of C major was used. The beginning of the composition starts with the Chords | C | G | Am | G. The second half of the composition the Chords are | Dm | Bdim | Am | G. There are two Melodies that I created both going well with the Harmony. The Harmony and Melody I used keys on those tracks.
On track 73 I recorded hitting a soda can with a butter knife. For the time based processing Reverb and delay were used as well as the Dynamics EQ and Compression. I used a female vocal from Apple loops. one obstacle I faced is that the Melody notes in the last half of the composition had some type of delay when you pressed the key so the sound didn't play at the time I wanted to so I basically Nudged all the notes in the melody back one space.
I mixed everything in the composition so that you can clearly hear every sound. Dynamic processing on all tracks using only EQ and Compression. Time Based Processing on all tracks using only Reverb and Delay. There was Panning done on all tracks except for Original Synth 1 and 2, the Bass, Kick, and Recorded Percussion.
